October Member Update

Hi everyone,

We hope you are enjoying our newest means of communication.  This new system works in conjunction with NJEA’s MARS database, so if you know someone who is not receiving this, direct them to update their information with NJEA. Responses to last month’s Professional. Development announcement were terrific. Our plan is to send a monthly update to all BCEA members directly, letting you know about events, workshops and other happenings on the county level.  Expect to see this newsletter around the middle of each month. Visit our website for more information and registration for some of the events.  We look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

Have a great end of the month,
Anthony, Chris, Brenda, Cathy and Andrew
The BCEA Officers

We have updated our workshop policies!  There is no longer a charge to attend our Professional Development or Retirement workshops. This makes the online registration process much easier. However, if you register and  fail to notify our office within 48 hours that you can not attend, or simply don’t show-up, you will be charged $25.00.
There is still time to register for our ESP Weekend Workshop on Friday-Saturday, November 22-23. We have extended registration until Thursday, October 17th. This year, it is being held at The DoubleTree Suites in Mt. Laurel.  There is dinner on Friday night, where we will honor our ESP of the Year.  On Saturday, there is breakfast, two (2) workshop sessions and lunch.  This is a free workshop.  Plan to stay the night (we have a few rooms left) or commute.  Contact your local president who can register you for this event!
It’s time for our annual Phone Bank.  This year’s dates are Thursday, October 24; Monday, October 28; Tuesday, October 29; Wednesday, October 30 and Monday, November 4 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm (in our office). We supply the phones and only contact other NJEA members.  Any member who works at least three (3) hours at the phone bank will receive a $25.00 gift card as a thank you.  Plus, there is always pizza.   Call today (609-871-2232) and reserve your time slot; bring other members from your local and make it an “association night”!
On Saturday, October 5th, 25 members attended the first Professional Development Workshop in our office.  In this two-part workshop, attendees learned about A.C.E.s (Adverse Childhood Experiences).  If you missed it, we are offering it again on Monday, April 27, 2020 (part 1) and Monday, May 4, 2020 (part 2).  You must attend BOTH sessions.  Register on our website.

Your voice counts!
